Project Community

What's it all about?

At its core, Project Community is about building relationships. As teens work together with YFC staff to improve their community and help earn their way to camp they are also strengthening the bonds of trust through which the Gospel can be communicated.

Project Community is built around 8 community oriented projects from March through June 2011. Each project is designed to meet the needs of people, not just property, in addition to addressing a genuine need in our community.

Three of the projects will be offered for middle school students, as well as three projects for high school students. The remaining two projects will be joint middle and high school work projects.

Each student participating will work at their respective age level projects as well as the two joint projects for a total of five service opportunities. Students are asked to obtain as many donors as possible to sponsor their work projects, allowing them to attend camp in late July or August.

Project Community is designed to:

  • Educate students in necessary life skills,
  • Empower a strong work ethic,
  • Encourage them to become community – minded, while
  • Enabling them to attend a high-quality summer camp.

Project Community is sponsored by:
